About the position

Gulf Coast Health Center, Inc. is seeking to hire a part-time and full-time Check In/Out Clerk for their Jasper location. This position is essential in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience at our healthcare facility, which has been proudly serving Southeast Texas for over 25 years. The Check In/Out Clerk will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include checking in and out patients, handling monetary transactions, performing data entry, and maintaining organized filing systems. The role requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be someone who is friendly, professional, and capable of providing excellent customer service to our patients. This position is not a work-from-home opportunity and requires in-person attendance at our Jasper location. The work schedule consists of 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday, ensuring that our clerical needs are met during regular business hours. Responsibilities

  • Check in patients upon arrival at the healthcare facility.
  • Check out patients after their appointments are completed.
  • Handle monetary transactions, including payments and receipts.
  • Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for patient records and documents.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients and their families.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a clerical or administrative role preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to handle cash and perform basic math calculations accurately.
  • Proficient in data entry and familiar with office software applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred but not mandatory.
