About the position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our private practice at Lexington Neurology Associates. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of our office, providing exceptional support to both patients and the healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be organized, efficient, and capable of managing various administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment, with no prior medical background required, although experience in a medical setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Patient Scheduling: Coordinate appointments and ensure timely confirmations to optimize office flow.
  • Insurance Verification: Confirm patient insurance details and maintain accurate documentation for billing purposes.
  • Billing & Collections: Assist with medical billing, including following up on outstanding payments as necessary.
  • Maintain Patient Records: Review patient records for accuracy and completeness, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Software Utilization: Use Meditech, Eaglesoft, or similar software to manage health information efficiently.
  • Phone & Front Desk Support: Answer phones with professional etiquette, address patient inquiries, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare providers to ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations.
  • Compliance: Adhere to office policies and procedures regarding patient information and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Experience with Meditech, Eaglesoft, or similar medical office software is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes and billing is a plus.
  • Strong phone etiquette and the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
  • Ability to manage documentation and patient records accurately.
  • Strong time management and multitasking abilities, with an eye for detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in a medical or office setting is preferred, but not required.
