About the position

As a Medical Office Coordinator with MSO Medical City Heart & Transplant, you will be part of an organization devoted to giving back to the community. The primary responsibilities include directing, planning, and coordinating the operations of clinical and front office functions while ensuring patient satisfaction. You will assist in developing and implementing work plans, oversee patient preparation for examinations, and ensure the accuracy of patient charge entries. This role requires maintaining confidentiality and participating in professional development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform select administrative duties.
  • Assist front office and clerical staff in developing and implementing short and long-term work plans and objectives.
  • Oversee the process to prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Screen telephone calls for referral to physicians.
  • Develop guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities as necessary.
  • Assist with scheduling of tests and treatment.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve work problems.
  • May assist in the hiring and development of clerical and clinical staff.
  • Ensure office and clinical supply inventory is current.
  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of patient charge entry into the billing system.
  • Assist front office staff with ensuring point-of-service collections are made when applicable.
  • Ensure that patients are treated courteously by the office staff.
  • Replenish office supplies when necessary.
  • Work with other administrative staff to ensure coordinated efforts and high-quality patient care.
  • Assist in maintaining patient files, records, and other information.
  • Compile and condense technical and statistical data for reports and records.
  • Ensure any patient complaints are handled appropriately.
  • Conduct staff meetings regularly.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Graduate from a recognized training facility for medical assistants and coursework in healthcare office management are preferred.
  • One year of medical office experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • RMA, CMA, or LPN certificate is beneficial.
  • CPR Certification is preferred.
