The Medical Office Receptionist at Texas Health Resources plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient patient care and administrative support within a fast-paced, high-volume family care clinic. This full-time position involves direct interaction with patients, managing check-in and check-out processes, scheduling appointments, and maintaining accurate patient records. The role emphasizes collaboration within a supportive team environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Medical Office Receptionist Process.
  • Performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all necessary paperwork for efficient admitting processes.
  • Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
  • Schedules appointments according to office guidelines.
  • Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts.
  • Copies/scans patient access related hard copy materials into the electronic medical record.
  • Prepares charts for patient appointments ensuring all necessary information is complete.
  • Conducts all functions associated with patient check-out including pricing services and scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval in electronic medical records.
  • Confirms next day appointments and alerts patients regarding necessary documentation.
  • Follows up with patients regarding the Missed Appointment Policy and sends out appropriate communications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED).
  • Six months healthcare experience in a Clinical Setting (PREFERRED).
  • EPIC Experience (PREFERRED).
  • Bilingual - English/Spanish (STRONGLY PREFERRED).
