About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing the front desk operations. This role is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations and maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist them with check-in and check-out processes.
• Manage phone calls with professionalism, addressing inquiries and scheduling appointments effectively.
• Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and maintaining patient records in compliance with health information management standards.
• Verify insurance information and assist patients with understanding their coverage options.
• Maintain an organized front desk area to ensure efficient workflow within the clinic.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate communication regarding patient needs and appointments.
• Utilize computerized systems for scheduling, record keeping, and patient management.
• Provide bilingual support in Spanish when necessary to enhance patient communication.

Requirements

• At least six months of experience in a medical office setting (primary care experience preferred).
• Strong clerical skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Proficient in insurance verification processes and knowledgeable about various health insurance plans.
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
• Ability to type efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Familiarity with clinic operations and health information management practices is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is highly desirable but not mandatory.
