About the position
The Surgery/Procedure Scheduler & Call Center Specialist at G.I. Medicine Associates, P.C. is a full-time role focused on efficiently managing scheduling for multiple physicians within a busy gastrointestinal practice. The position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of calls while maintaining organized documentation. The specialist will be responsible for coordinating procedures, managing patient registrations, and verifying insurance information.
Responsibilities
- Schedule procedures for multiple physicians at various locations.
- Follow up on requests for services in a timely manner.
- Answer multiple phone calls and make various appointments.
- Obtain and update patient medical and surgical history.
- Screen telephone calls for triage hand off and document call details.
- Obtain medical clearance and/or prior authorization from insurance companies.
- Perform patient registration and insurance verification.
Requirements
- Experience in medical office scheduling.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and prior authorization processes.
- Strong call documentation skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Experience in the gastrointestinal field is a plus.
