About the position

The Medical Operations Technical Specialist position at Samaritans Purse is a one-year role focused on supporting the launch of new Domestic Medical Clinics in partnership with local churches across the USA. This initiative aims to provide essential dental, vision, and medical care to underserved communities, allowing churches to minister effectively to their local populations. The specialist will be based in North Wilkesboro, NC, and will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of non-clinical operations for these clinics. The position emphasizes a commitment to serving in the name of Jesus, with daily devotions and prayer being integral to the work culture. In this role, the Medical Operations Technical Specialist will oversee the setup and takedown of clinics, ensuring that all non-clinical operations run smoothly. This includes managing biomedical equipment, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The specialist will also assist in the design and development of new non-clinical innovations and equipment, ensuring that all logistical aspects are addressed for successful clinic operations. Additionally, the role involves identifying suitable clinic locations and managing consumables, including inventory and packing for clinic setup. The position requires flexibility and a willingness to take on various tasks as needed to support the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the setup and takedown of domestic medical clinics with volunteers and staff.
  • Facilitate preventative maintenance of biomedical equipment, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the design and development of new non-clinical innovations and equipment for clinic operations.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality performance of non-clinical functions for the domestic medical program.
  • Identify appropriate clinic locations that provide safe and effective utility access.
  • Manage domestic medical program consumables, including inventory and packing for clinic setup.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, business, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in project management or a similar leadership role.
  • Experience in a health-related field is strongly preferred.
  • Twelve credit hours of college-level Biblical studies are strongly preferred.
  • Ability to learn to operate and maintain medical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of general utility functions (water, electric, gas, etc.).
  • Ability to manage a project from conception to completion and provide an after-action report.
