About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Dental Assistant. This role will primarily involve working in a non-profit medical clinic, providing virtual oral health support in collaboration with a remote dentist. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating virtual oral health assessments between the remote dentist and in-person patients, utilizing telemedicine technology and effective communication skills to ensure seamless patient care coordination and delivery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a dental assisting program is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Proficient in using telemedicine platforms and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate effective interaction with patients, colleagues, and the remote dentist.
  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately record and document patient information.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in sensitive situations.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and instruments is desirable.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a healthcare setting or customer service role is advantageous.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to embrace technological advancements and workflow changes.
  • CPR certification may be required, depending on the specific clinic's policies.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the schedule for virtual oral health assessments using TeleDent and ECW systems.
  • Conduct virtual oral health assessments with patients using TeleDent, following established protocols and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed oral health assessments and appointments within the TeleDent system.
  • Collaborate with the remote dentist to communicate findings and recommendations to the patient for follow-up visits.
  • Act as a liaison between in-person patients and the remote dentist, relaying information and addressing concerns.
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality protocols and safeguard patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including data entry, documentation, and record management related to virtual oral health assessments.
