About the position

This position is for a Medical Personal Assistant at Sunlife Home Care, where the selected candidate will provide high-quality care to clients in a professional and compassionate manner. The role is designed for individuals who are patient, friendly, and possess excellent communication skills. The primary responsibility will be to assist clients with their daily activities, ensuring they receive dignified and respectful care. The position requires adherence to health and safety standards while performing a variety of tasks to support clients in their homes. The work environment is supportive, and the company values the time and expertise of its caregivers. The shift schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility in hours available for full-time and part-time positions. The office serves the local area, including North Dallas, Far North Dallas, Farmer's Branch, Carrollton, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and surrounding regions. Responsibilities

  • Help clients take prescribed medication
  • Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks, etc.)
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
  • Help clients with physical therapy exercises
  • Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
  • Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop
  • Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
  • Be a pleasant and supportive companion
  • Report any unusual incidents
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a caregiver (Minimum 6 months)
  • Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
  • Respectful and compassionate demeanor
  • Good time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Physical endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, and reliable transportation with auto insurance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in caregiving for 2 years (Preferred)
  • Ability to travel to clients who are located up to 25 miles from home
