About the position

This position is a personal assistant style role for "white glove" clients at Sunlife Home Care. The ideal candidate will provide compassionate and professional care to clients, ensuring their needs are met in a dignified manner. The role requires a patient and friendly individual with excellent communication skills, capable of following instructions and performing a variety of tasks to assist clients. The office supports a wide area including North Dallas, Far North Dallas, Farmer's Branch, Carrollton, Plano, Frisco, McKinney, and more. The position offers flexibility with full-time and part-time options, and various shift lengths including 4, 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts. The caregiver will be responsible for assisting clients with daily activities, medication management, personal care, and providing companionship. This role is essential in promoting the well-being and comfort of seniors, and candidates who are passionate about providing respectful care are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Help clients take prescribed medication
  • Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor's appointments, walks, etc.)
  • Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
  • Help clients with physical therapy exercises
  • Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
  • Do the client's shopping or accompany them when they shop
  • Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can't complete on their own
  • Be a pleasant and supportive companion
  • Report any unusual incidents
  • Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a caregiver (Minimum 6 months)
  • Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
  • Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards
  • Respectful and compassionate demeanor
  • Good time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ethics
  • Physical endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, and reliable transportation with auto insurance

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in assisted living or home care settings
  • CNA certification
  • First aid and CPR certification
