Umyuaq Technology, part of the Wood River Federal group of companies, is seeking a qualified Medical Photographer / Videographer Graphic Support Tech to support our contract at the Brooke Army Medical Center, located on Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, in San Antonio, TX. The primary responsibility of this role is to generate digital images or multidimensional animations of patients and conditions for use in patient care, research activities, and education. This includes documentation within the medical record, publication in medical literature, and contributions to medical presentations and other educational projects in collaboration with medical experts. The Medical Photographer / Videographer will be expected to have a strong understanding of medical terminology to accurately follow the doctor's directions on what to photograph. The role requires experience in taking medical photographs and a solid understanding of human anatomy to identify and capture the necessary images. Additionally, the candidate should be proficient in uploading medical photographs and have experience in video editing, which encompasses videotaping, audio recording, and converting recorded footage to various media formats. A key aspect of this position is the ability to apply graphic and visual design principles, including knowledge of photographic rules such as leading lines and the rule of thirds, to create strong compositions. The candidate should also be skilled in storyboarding and scripting. Proficiency with professional photographic equipment, including digital SLR cameras, interchangeable lenses, flash equipment, and portable lighting, is essential. The physical demands of the job include the ability to carry and transport equipment and to stand and hold camera equipment for extended periods. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite 5 or higher, particularly in programs such as Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, Encore, Flash, Audition, and Sound Booth, is required. Furthermore, the candidate must be knowledgeable about HIPAA regulations governing the control of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Protected Health Information (PHI) and ensure strict compliance with these regulations.
