About the position

The Medical Physicist position at Coborn Cancer Center involves joining a five-member physics team to ensure high-quality patient care through treatment plan checks, machine quality assurance, and providing expert consultations. The role requires a self-starter who can work collaboratively within a robust department, focusing on SRS and SBRT planning, acceptance testing, and commissioning of new treatment technologies. This full-time position offers a hybrid work schedule with significant remote work opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient treatment plan checks and weekly physics chart checks.
• Conduct daily, monthly, and annual machine quality assurance.
• Provide SRS and SBRT presence and consulting.
• Serve as a resource for dosimetrists and physicians for special physics consultations.
• Engage in MLC-based linac SRS planning.
• Participate in acceptance testing and commissioning of new treatment machines, software, or hardware.

Requirements

• Master's Degree or higher in Medical Physics or Applied Physics and completion of a medical physics residency program.
• American Board of Radiology Certification in Radiation Oncology Physics preferred, or eligible to attain within the first 5 years of employment.
• 1 year of post-graduate experience in a similar program with computerized treatment planning.
• 5 years of post-residency experience in a Varian/ARIA program with computerized treatment planning preferred.
• Strong MLC-based linac SRS planning experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators.
• Familiarity with Eclipse treatment planning system and ARIA EMR.
