About the position

The Medical Receptionist at Baptist Health Urgent Care plays a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to patients and supporting medical staff in a healthcare setting. This position involves greeting patients, managing patient files, and ensuring a smooth registration process. The role is part-time and on-site, with PRN (per diem) team members scheduled as needed.

Responsibilities

• Welcome all patients and visitors by greeting them in person, answering inquiries, and directing them through the registration process.
• Answer multi-line phones, file, fax, scan documentation, and complete daily patient callbacks.
• Check in and discharge patients, assist clinical staff, and close the office at the end of each shift.
• Collect all insurance information, verify patient demographics, process payments, post patient balances, and complete phone sheets.
• Maintain a neat and clean work environment and professional appearance.
• Adhere to all relevant health and safety procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge of basic computer software and the ability to learn electronic medical records
• Prior experience in a medical office setting
