About the position

As a Bilingual Medical Receptionist at Lenox Hill Radiology, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service in a fast-paced outpatient radiology setting. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting and registering patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner, ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed accurately. You will be responsible for obtaining and verifying insurance information, collecting co-pays, and logging fees. Additionally, you will handle incoming phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, and providing patients with necessary information regarding preparatory and safety protocols. Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish will be essential in ensuring a positive experience for our diverse patient population. In this role, you will work part-time, specifically on Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM and Saturdays from 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. You will be part of a dedicated team that values quality, access, and patient care, and you will have opportunities for advancement through dynamic cross-training. Your commitment to customer service and professionalism will be key to your success in this position, as you will be interacting with patients, guests, and colleagues on a daily basis. Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Collect and log all co-pays and fees.
  • Answer/transfer incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments and notify staff of changes when necessary.
  • Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
  • Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Medical terminology knowledge and recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a medical office setting for at least 1 year
