About the position

Rehab 2 Perform is seeking an energetic Full-Time (Hourly) Medical Receptionist to join our team in Tysons Corner, VA. This role is crucial in overseeing the daily operations of our clinic, which includes managing the schedules of physical therapists and ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed efficiently. The Medical Receptionist will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in their journey through the patient lifecycle. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will be driven to help people get better and will thrive in a setting that combines athletics and healthcare. The working hours for this position are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, with some flexibility as needed to meet business demands. Under the supervision of the Site Director, Physical Therapist, or Corporate Management, the Medical Receptionist will be responsible for preparing patients for treatment by collecting payments and paperwork, performing housekeeping duties, and overseeing the clinic's daily operations. This includes verifying insurance and authorizations, coordinating tasks with other staff members, accurately entering charges, and assisting patients with paperwork. The Medical Receptionist will also communicate the arrival of clients, maintain a neat workspace, and ensure cleanliness within the facility. A proactive approach to scheduling appointments and following up on patient care is essential to prevent delays in treatment. Candidates should have experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and scheduling software, as well as a basic understanding of medical billing practices and terminology. Customer service experience is crucial, and familiarity with healthcare software such as Prompt EMR, WebPT, and Revflow is preferred. The role requires a professional demeanor, the ability to prioritize tasks, and a willingness to take initiative. Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the clinic and manage the physical therapists' schedules.
  • Verify insurances and authorizations for patient visits.
  • Delegate and coordinate tasks with other medical receptionists, physical therapists, and management.
  • Accurately enter charges including copays, co-insurance, and bill payments.
  • Review daily patient payments and prepare reports as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of in-services and events with management.
  • Perform clerical duties such as inventory management, ordering supplies, and answering phones.
  • Assist patients with paperwork and ensure timely communication of their arrival.
  • Maintain a neat and organized workspace and ensure cleanliness within the facility.
  • Understand and assist in the patients' plan of care regarding scheduling and rescheduling appointments.
  • Follow up on daily reports and communicate the need for prescriptions or authorizations to avoid delays in patient care.

Requirements

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and scheduling software.
  • Ability to efficiently use office technology including computers, scanners, and credit card machines.
  • Knowledge of healthcare software such as Prompt EMR, WebPT, and Revflow is favorable.
  • Customer service experience is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and neurology is helpful but not required.
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting with an understanding of medical billing practices and terminology is a plus.
  • Ability to work under direction and take instructions and corrections.
  • Professional demeanor and courteous attitude towards others.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using G-Suite products (Google Docs, Gmail, Calendar).
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with CPT and ICD10 codes.
