About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations within the medical office. This position requires excellent phone etiquette, administrative skills, and the ability to manage various tasks efficiently while maintaining a welcoming environment for patients.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
• Manage incoming phone calls, providing information and directing calls as necessary.
• Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for medical staff.
• Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Scanning, confirming appointments.
• Utilize electronic health record systems to update patient information.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and handling correspondence.
• Ensure that the front office area is organized and presentable at all times.
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding their inquiries or concerns.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is required.
• Must have experience with insurance authorizations, preferably in pain management.
• Strong administrative skills with proficiency in computer systems and software.
• Familiarity with EHR or similar electronic health record systems is a must.
• Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
