About the position
We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Medical Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical terminology, administrative tasks, and providing excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner
- Assist with front desk operations including appointment scheduling, check-in, and check-out procedures
- Maintain patient records and ensure accurate documentation
- Handle phone calls, inquiries, and requests efficiently
- Assist healthcare providers with patient care as needed
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers
- Process laboratory specimens as needed.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a medical setting preferable
- Proficiency with medical terminology and understanding of medical office procedures
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and providers
Nice-to-haves
