Responsibilities

  • Verifies all personal information, address, telephone, and method of payment and insurance.
  • Obtains signed registration sheets and updates information in the computer as needed.
  • Collects and documents accurate copays and fees.
  • Answers calls in a timely fashion and schedules all providers' appointments.
  • Coordinates ancillary testing and obtains prior authorizations when needed.
  • Responds to patients' minor questions and concerns, referring to a supervisor when necessary.
  • Maintains awareness of patients in the waiting room to ensure optimal service experience.
  • Uses clerical skills such as filing, organizing, and processing incoming mail.
  • Communicates effectively with patients, family members, and staff.
  • Assists other clerical staff as needed.
