About the position

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and painter duties in all areas and aspects for the maintenance upkeep of City facilities and properties throughout the City.
  • Paint, sheetrock, tape and float and texture.
  • Prep and finish on cabinetry, countertops and laminate work.
  • Assist in maintenance and repairs to pressure, drain and sewage lines.
  • Assist with installation and repairs to grease traps and separators.
  • Assist with installation of piping using welding, braising, soldering, mechanical and chemical binding methods according to Plumbing Code standards.
  • Assist in maintaining, repairing, and installing of drinking fountains, irrigation system component, ice makers, filtration devices, and rotary pumps.
  • Perform building operations duties in support of overall mission; custodial duties, general landscaping, non-specialized repairs, support in commercial construction/remodeling projects, etc.
  • Assist in preventative maintenance by periodically inspecting equipment to locate and correct problems prior to equipment failure and advising management of equipment condition.
  • Drive city vehicles and equipment as needed.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED
  • No experience required
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
