About the position

The Business Services Representative – Orthopedics provides essential front office support in a busy Orthopedics practice, ensuring a smooth and professional experience for every patient. Manages appointment scheduling, patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, copay collection, and referral coordination. Supports the clinical team with chart preparation and handles incoming calls and documentation. Ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable multitasking in a fast-paced, team-based environment with a strong focus on customer service and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and communicates with patients via phone or in person in a courteous and professional manner identifying themselves and their department.
  • Answers telephones in a timely, courteous, and professional manner utilizing appropriate scripting.
  • Processes calls to ensure patients are transferred to the appropriate staff member/provider in a timely manner.
  • Schedules patient appointments based on department protocols in order to maximize provider productivity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience within a medical office or billing department preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred
  • Excellent keyboard skills.
  • Requires proficiency in a Windows based computer environment and Microsoft Office products.
  • Accuracy and dependability required.
