The Medical Receptionist is responsible for a variety of tasks that include managing patient interactions, handling billing and collections, coordinating referrals, and maintaining office supplies and records. In this role, the Medical Receptionist is expected to greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued. They will assist patients with the sign-in process, respond promptly to their needs, and manage the check-in and check-out processes efficiently. This includes verifying insurance information, collecting copayments, and scheduling future appointments. The Medical Receptionist must adhere to HIPAA guidelines and office policies while providing excellent customer service to promote patient satisfaction. Additionally, the Medical Receptionist will be responsible for maintaining an organized filing and record-keeping system, assembling new patient folders, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. The role requires adaptability to meet the needs of the practice, including working additional hours as needed and traveling to various locations within a 30-minute radius of their home. The Medical Receptionist will also serve as a pre-loader for the electronic medical records (EMR) system and may take on other duties or projects as assigned.
