The Medical Receptionist at Hackensack Meridian Health plays a crucial role in providing reception and clerical services under the supervision of the practice manager and physician(s) for the pediatric neurology practice. This position is essential for ensuring that patients and visitors receive a warm welcome and efficient service. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for a variety of tasks that include managing patient check-in and check-out processes, handling billing and collections, and maintaining accurate records. The role requires a strong commitment to patient satisfaction and adherence to HIPAA guidelines, ensuring that all communications are handled courteously and consistently. In addition to greeting patients and assisting them with the sign-in process, the Medical Receptionist must verify insurance eligibility, collect copayments, and ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately. This position also involves monitoring office supply inventory, preparing bank deposits, and managing the financial responsibilities associated with patient billing. The Medical Receptionist must be adaptable, willing to travel to various locations, and able to work additional hours as needed to maintain adequate coverage for the practice. The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and demonstrate a strong sense of accountability and teamwork. Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred, along with familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Epic. CPR certification is also a plus.
