About the position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join our Urgent Care Frontline team! As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. This position involves working in both a Call Center environment and at the Front Desk. In the Call Center, your primary responsibility will be to handle incoming calls while maintaining a minimum of 93% availability during scheduled hours. You will be expected to meet department-specific agent expectations and follow defined guidelines and processes to ensure efficient service delivery. At the Front Desk, your responsibilities will include greeting patients, collecting co-pays, scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals, and supporting various clerical duties within the department. You will provide timely and courteous assistance to patients, ensuring quality service and support. Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming calls in a Call Center environment while maintaining a minimum of 93% availability.
  • Greet patients and provide timely assistance at the Front Desk.
  • Collect co-pays and schedule follow-up appointments and referrals.
  • Support departmental clerical duties as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality service and patient care.

Requirements

  • 6 months of related experience in a medical or customer service environment.
  • Accurate computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles to provide appropriate service.
  • Proficiency in operating telephones, headsets, PCs, printers, photocopiers, and fax machines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills.
  • Listening and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.
  • Comfort in asking patients for co-pays and race collection.
  • Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and structured environment.
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time.
