About the position

The Medical Receptionist (Patient Coordinator) at St. Louis Eye Surgery and Laser Center is responsible for facilitating patient flow and providing exceptional customer service during patient encounters. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out experience while managing administrative responsibilities. The position requires effective communication with patients, doctors, and managers, as well as the ability to handle inquiries through various channels.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient flow and verify medical and vision insurances.
• Effectively communicate with patients, doctors, and managers.
• Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person requests.
• Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter.
• Display a professional attitude, greet patients promptly, and thank them when they leave.
• Answer phones and assure prompt, courteous service at all times.
• Manage patient flow in the office and knowledge of common fees charged for visits.
• Complete daily reconciliations, close day, and countdown cash drawer.
• Perform general office duties and cleaning as assigned by the manager.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Favorable result on background check.
