About the position

Rady Children's Physician Management Services (RCPMS) is dedicated to the health and wellbeing of the pediatric population in our community. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our patients and their families receive the best possible care and support. This position is essential in managing the front office operations of our pediatric clinics, which are located throughout San Diego and Southern Riverside Counties. You will be the first point of contact for patients, and your friendly demeanor and professional appearance will help create a welcoming environment for families seeking care for their children. In this role, you will be responsible for performing various procedures associated with routine patient encounters. This includes processing incoming calls for appointments, directing patients to the appropriate clinic locations, informing them of clinic procedures, and confirming appointments. You will also check HMO eligibility and demonstrate knowledge of contracted insurance plans, ensuring that patients are informed about their coverage. Additionally, you will set up new patient charts, file documents, and fax requested information according to established procedures. Responsibilities

  • Perform various procedures associated with routine patient encounters, including processing incoming calls for appointments and distribution.
  • Direct patients to appropriate clinic locations and inform them of clinic procedures.
  • Confirm appointments and check HMO eligibility, demonstrating knowledge of contracted insurance plans.
  • Set up new patient charts and file documents according to procedures.
  • Fax requested information as needed.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of customer service experience, preferably in a physician office or outpatient setting.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pleasant attitude and professional appearance.
  • Willingness to prioritize patient comfort and satisfaction.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
