The University of Louisville Physicians is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to join our team at the 5100 Outer Loop location in Louisville, Kentucky. As a vital part of our fully integrated regional academic health system, which includes seven hospitals, four medical centers, and nearly 200 physician practice locations, the Medical Receptionist will play a crucial role in delivering patient-centered care. Our mission is to transform the health of the communities we serve through compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care, and the Medical Receptionist will be instrumental in achieving this goal by ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for our patients and visitors. In this role, the Medical Receptionist will be responsible for answering incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and updating patient demographics. The position requires maintaining a bump list, scheduling for each division, paging MDs with hospital consults, and obtaining medical records when possible. Additional miscellaneous duties include assisting with scheduling sleep study patients, filing batches, and distributing correspondence with co-workers. The Medical Receptionist will utilize the Epic system to register patients according to standard procedures and ensure the availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records. The ideal candidate will demonstrate care, courtesy, and respect in responding to customer needs, providing prompt service, and listening attentively to fully understand their needs. Communication with customers and team members should be delivered with courtesy, clarity, and care. The Medical Receptionist will also interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds, maintain patient privacy and confidentiality, and provide efficient and professional telephone services. This position requires scheduling appointments, making appointment reminder calls, maintaining forms and office supplies, and participating in staff and educational meetings. The Medical Receptionist will contribute to team efforts to assure excellent patient care and service while following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
