As a PSR, you will be the initial point of contact for patients and their families, performing essential administrative duties that help ensure efficient operations and patient flow. Your role will involve check-in and check-out processes, scheduling appointments, and providing exemplary customer service to enhance the patient experience. In this position, you will be responsible for verifying patient demographics and insurance eligibility, processing authorization forms, and collecting co-payments. You will also complete patient pre-registration by addressing any questions or concerns, reviewing financial responsibilities, and preparing charts according to the Quality Checklist. After appointments, you will check out patients, schedule follow-up appointments, and provide necessary paperwork while relaying important information to them. Your duties will also include answering phones, routing communications, and documenting patient interactions in the EMR system promptly. You will manage incoming mail and fax documents, process medical record requests, and handle referrals. At the end of the day, you will perform cash and credit card payment reconciliations and carry out general office duties such as document preparation, scanning, and filing. Maintaining a clean and welcoming patient waiting room and ensuring timely notifications regarding appointments will also be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to uphold a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and procedures, while delivering exceptional customer service to create a positive experience for our patients.
