This position is for a Medical Receptionist at a busy medical practice located in Southold, NY. As the first point of contact for patients, the Medical Receptionist plays a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience for all visitors. The primary responsibilities include performing essential receptionist duties such as answering, screening, and routing phone calls, taking appropriate messages, and ensuring their proper delivery. The Medical Receptionist must maintain a polite and courteous demeanor at all times, demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Additionally, the role requires the ability to triage phone calls effectively, determining the urgency of calls and notifying the physician or nurse as necessary. Upon patient arrival, the Medical Receptionist is responsible for greeting and registering each patient, verifying their demographics and insurance information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, and collecting any necessary co-payments. The receptionist will also notify the provider and staff of patients' arrivals and schedule appointments, services, or procedures as needed. Maintaining and preparing patient charts and the physician's schedule is also a critical part of the job. The Medical Receptionist may be required to open and close the office and must ensure compliance with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines at all times. This position is full-time and operates during the day shift, providing a stable work environment in a healthcare setting.
