Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Complete patient registration and update patient records accurately.
  • Collect payments, insurance co-pays, and prescription charges according to clinic policies.
  • Handle insurance and billing inquiries, providing clear information to patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient clinic operations and patient flow.
  • Manage patient reservations and registration, optimizing satisfaction and schedules.
  • Assist in scheduling specialist referrals for patient follow-up.
  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally and timely.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy reception area.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including photocopying and filing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused, demonstrating understanding and kindness.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical Receptionist Certification.
  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar customer service position.
