About the position

The prestigious Physician Group located in Roswell is seeking a dedicated Front Office Specialist to join their team. This role is essential for ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the medical office. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who is hard-working and eager to contribute to a rewarding and dynamic environment. This position is classified as temporary to permanent, with compensation based on experience. The Front Office Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are crucial for patient management and office administration. In this role, you will greet patients as they arrive, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. You will register patients according to established protocols and assist them in completing all necessary forms and documentation, including medical insurance information. Accuracy is paramount, as you will be responsible for ensuring that patient information, including billing details, is correct. You will also inform patients about medical office procedures and policies, maintaining a clear line of communication. Managing patient records is another critical aspect of this position. You will be tasked with moving patients through their appointments as scheduled, answering incoming calls, and addressing any inquiries they may have. Scheduling patient appointments, collecting co-pays and deductibles, and coordinating hospital admissions, tests, scans, and outside appointments are also part of your responsibilities. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, procedures, and healthcare insurance, along with excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients
  • Register patients according to established protocols
  • Assist patients to complete all necessary forms and documentation including medical insurance
  • Ensure patient information is accurate including billing information
  • Inform patients of medical office procedures and policy
  • Maintain and manage patient records
  • Move patients through appointments as scheduled

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures and diagnosis
  • Knowledge of computer and relevant software applications
  • Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures
  • Working knowledge of healthcare insurance required
  • 3 years of experience in a medical front office role

Nice-to-haves

  • Computer skills: 1 year (Preferred)
