About the position

As a Medical Receptionist at RadNet San Gabriel Valley, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth operational flow within the radiology department. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting and registering patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner. You will obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect necessary signatures, and ensure the accuracy and completion of all documentation. Additionally, you will be tasked with collecting and logging co-pays and fees, answering and transferring incoming phone calls, and scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed. You will also provide patients with appropriate orientation regarding preparatory and safety protocols and assist them with directions to facilities when necessary. Collaboration with back-office staff is essential to ensure timely and effective care for patients. You will need to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills, maintaining professionalism in all interactions with patients, guests, and colleagues. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and provide world-class customer service is key to your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Collect and log all co-pays and fees.
  • Answer/transfer incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments and notify staff of changes when necessary.
  • Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
  • Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Medical terminology knowledge and recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred.
