About the position

We are seeking a skilled and organized Medical Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing patient appointments, and ensuring smooth operations at the front desk. The ideal candidate will have experience in a medical office setting and possess strong administrative skills, contributing to exceptional patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
• Schedule and confirm patient appointments using Medent
• Collect patient information, update records, and verify insurance coverage & eligibility
• Answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate staff members
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area
• Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
• Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate patient care
• Handle billing inquiries and process payments accurately

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist is preferred, but not mandatory
• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus
• Proficient in using office equipment such as computers, printers, and scanners
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliance
