As a Medical Receptionist, also known as a Patient Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in our team-focused environment, which emphasizes dynamic cross-training and opportunities for advancement. You will be responsible for aligning all stakeholders—patients, providers, payors, and regulators—to achieve the best clinical outcomes. In this full-time position, you will work Monday through Friday during the day, primarily at our location on 995 Senator Keating Blvd. Your responsibilities will include greeting and registering patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner, obtaining or verifying proper insurance and patient information, and ensuring the accuracy and completion of necessary documentation. You will also be tasked with collecting and logging co-pays and fees, answering and transferring incoming phone calls, scheduling and confirming appointments, and providing patients with appropriate orientation regarding preparatory and safety protocols. Additionally, you will coordinate with back-office staff to ensure timely and effective patient care. To succeed in this role, you must be genuinely passionate about customer service, exercise sound judgment, and maintain professionalism in all situations. You should possess strong multitasking and communication skills, be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a structured approach to prioritizing work. A high school diploma or GED is required, along with intermediate to advanced computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology. Recent experience in a medical or radiology office is preferred, as is a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures, and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Collect and log all co-pays and fees.
  • Answer/transfer incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule, or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments, and notify staff of changes when necessary.
  • Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
  • Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred.
