About the position

As a Medical Receptionist at RadNet in San Fernando Valley, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth operational flow within the radiology department. This position is designed for individuals who are passionate about customer service and are committed to enhancing the healthcare experience for patients. You will be part of a dedicated team that values quality, access, and value in healthcare, working collaboratively to achieve the best clinical outcomes for all stakeholders involved, including patients, providers, payors, and regulators. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting and registering patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner. This includes obtaining or verifying proper insurance and patient information, collecting necessary signatures, and ensuring the accuracy and completion of all documentation. You will also be tasked with collecting and logging co-pays and fees, answering and transferring incoming phone calls, and scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments as needed. Providing patients with appropriate orientation regarding preparatory and safety protocols, as well as giving directions to facilities, will also be part of your responsibilities. To ensure effective patient care, you will coordinate with back-office staff, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. Your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and maintain professionalism in all interactions will be key to your success in this role. You will be expected to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering a respectful and supportive atmosphere for patients, guests, and colleagues alike.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures, and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Collect and log all co-pays and fees.
  • Answer/transfer incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments, and notify staff of changes when necessary.
  • Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
  • Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service
  • Medical terminology knowledge and recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred.
