As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in our mission by being the first point of contact for patients and visitors at our clinics. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients warmly, managing patient registrations, updating records, collecting payments, and ensuring that all patients are seen promptly, regardless of whether they have pre-existing reservations. In this role, you will engage with patients in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their inquiries and providing assistance both in person and over the phone. You will be responsible for efficiently registering patients, ensuring that all required forms are completed accurately. Handling insurance and billing inquiries will also be part of your duties, where you will provide clear and concise information to patients. Additionally, you will collect payments, including insurance co-pays and prescription charges, while adhering to clinic financial policies. Collaboration with the healthcare team is essential to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient clinic operations. You will manage patient reservations, assist in scheduling specialist referrals, and maintain a tidy reception area to create a welcoming environment. Familiarity with CMD's services and costs will be necessary, as you will navigate various software systems for scheduling and electronic medical records. This position requires flexibility, as you will need to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may be required to travel to other ConvenientMD locations for training or shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Complete patient registration and update records accurately.
  • Collect payments, insurance co-pays, and prescription charges.
  • Handle insurance and billing inquiries, providing clear information to patients.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Manage patient reservations and registration to optimize satisfaction.
  • Assist in scheduling specialist referrals for patient follow-up.
  • Answer and direct phone calls professionally and timely.
  • Maintain an organized and tidy reception area.
  • Perform various administrative duties, including photocopying and filing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal).
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple high-priority tasks.
  • Compassionate and patient-focused with a strong understanding of others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients and team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Medical Receptionist Certification.
  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist role or similar customer service position.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of insurance processes.
  • Experience using electronic records data management software.
