About the position

The Medical Receptionist position in Meridian, ID, is a full-time role focused on managing client interactions and maintaining accurate health records. The role involves ensuring confidentiality, handling client accounts, and assisting with billing and insurance processes. The receptionist will also support the training of new staff and volunteers while adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Insure the confidentiality of client information.
• Open new client accounts and verify client data as they check in, including billing and insurance information.
• Prepare new client Electronic Health Records (eClinical Works) and other necessary paperwork for new and established clients.
• Answer incoming calls and assist clients with inquiries.
• Maintain Electronic Health Records (eClinical Works) including scanning, filing, and retrieving records.
• Compute client charges and collect fees.
• Verify and calculate sliding scale charges and insurance.
• Prepare cash receipts ledger and balance cash receipts.
• Check emails or incoming faxes.
• Request authorizations from select insurance companies and track their status prior to the date of service.
• Prepare and send no-show letters and records release requests as necessary.
• Confirm next day appointments and verify client coverage under managed care plans.
• Manage records requests.
• Assist in training of new staff and volunteers.

Requirements

• Experience with Electronic Health Records (eClinical Works)
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Basic math skills for computing charges and payments
