About the position

Park Nicollet is looking to hire a Medical Receptionist to join our Oncology team! As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day. This position involves working in a Call Center environment where the primary responsibility is to handle incoming calls while maintaining a minimum of 93% availability during scheduled hours. You will be expected to meet department-specific agent expectations and adhere to defined guidelines and processes. In addition to call handling, you will also provide front desk support, which includes greeting patients, collecting co-pays, scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals, and assisting with various clerical duties within the department. Your role will be vital in ensuring quality service through timely and courteous assistance, as well as providing support to patients who request our care. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays. To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and ensure the safety of patients. You will also need to be proficient in operating various types of equipment, including telephones, PCs, printers, photo copiers, and fax machines.

Responsibilities

  • Handle incoming calls in a Call Center environment while maintaining a minimum of 93% availability.

  • Support departmental clerical duties and ensure quality service through timely assistance.
  • Provide service support to patients who request care.

Requirements

  • 6 months related experience in a similar role.
  • Accurate computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Knowledge of age-related growth and development principles.
  • Proficient in operating telephones, PCs, printers, photo copiers, and fax machines.

  • Some medical background preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Human relations sensitivity and customer service skills.
  • Listening and telephone etiquette skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
