About the position

As a Medical Receptionist at one of the top healthcare providers in Fairfield County, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting and checking in patients, which sets the tone for their visit and ensures they feel welcomed and cared for. You will also be responsible for answering telephone calls, routing them appropriately, and addressing any inquiries that patients may have. Maintaining patient charts, records, clinic logs, and the database is essential to keep accurate and up-to-date information, which is vital for patient care and clinic operations. In addition to patient interaction, you will manage appointment books, scheduling patients for medical and dental appointments. This requires attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. You will also be responsible for requesting and verifying all demographic and insurance information, including obtaining necessary authorizations and precertifications. Follow-up calls will be initiated by you to ensure that patients are reminded of their appointments and to confirm any necessary information. Your role will also involve filing and scanning documents to maintain organized records. Monthly audits of office supplies and inventory will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the clinic is well-stocked with necessary materials. You will document what is needed and place orders for supplies as required. Additionally, you will contact and complete work orders for the IT and facilities department to address any operational needs that arise.
