About the position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing administrative support and ensuring smooth operations in a medical setting. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and development. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for patients and ensuring that their experience is positive from the moment they arrive. You will greet and check-in patients, schedule appointments, and maintain the appointment calendar, ensuring that all patient interactions are handled with care and professionalism. Your duties will also include verifying patient insurance information and collecting necessary co-pays or fees. You will be the first point of contact for patients, answering phone calls and directing inquiries to the appropriate department or staff member. Maintaining patient records and updating information in electronic medical record systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks will be a key part of your responsibilities. Providing excellent customer service by addressing patient concerns or questions is essential, as is assisting with various medical administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents. Adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality is paramount in this role. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and contribute to the overall delivery of quality healthcare services. This position is scheduled for Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, and the schedule may not be modified at any point.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a medical receptionist or administrative role preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
  • Proficient in using electronic medical record systems (e.g., Epic, eClinicalWorks)
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with insurance verification processes
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy guidelines
