The Medical Receptionist at Pediatric Associates plays a crucial role in providing a welcoming environment for patients and visitors. This position involves managing patient check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate information collection, and maintaining a professional atmosphere in the office. The Medical Receptionist is responsible for various administrative tasks that support the overall efficiency of the medical office, contributing to a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and welcoming manner upon arrival.
  • Check-in patients, updating demographics, insurance information, and collecting co-pays.
  • Check out patients, providing visit summaries, referral information, and follow-up appointments.
  • Verify patient insurance and contact patients regarding insurance issues.
  • Post patient charges and payments, completing charge and payment reconciliation.
  • Scan and upload documents in the Document Management system.
  • Sort and deliver mail and documents received by courier.
  • Maintain a clean work area and patient waiting area.
  • Participate in staff and educational meetings.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a medical office setting preferred.
  • Valid driver's license must be active and valid upon hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of computer and medical terminology desired.
  • Experience in using a computer system, scanner, printer, fax, etc.
