About the position

As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our healthcare facility. This position is designed for individuals who are ready to take the next step in their career and are eager to contribute to a team that values growth and development. You will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks that are essential for maintaining the flow of patient care and ensuring a positive experience for all patients. Your day will involve answering telephones, triaging and directing calls to the appropriate individuals or departments, and entering patient information into our IDX system. You will also schedule appointments, process patients at check-in and check-out, and prepare charts for office hours. In addition to these responsibilities, you will ensure that appropriate referrals are in place for each date of service and verify insurance information for assigned patients. Following up with referring physicians and patients when referrals are required is also a key part of your role. You will be expected to forward messages to physicians and staff using Allscripts and schedule surgeries for the assigned doctor in a timely manner, including obtaining all necessary authorizations. The position requires you to perform other duties as assigned based on the individual departmental needs, all while managing a patient volume of between 80-120 patients per day. This is a standard in-office role with hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and offers competitive pay ranging from $17.00 to $18.00 per hour. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 1+ years of Medical Receptionist Experience
  • Strong Computer Skills
  • Great Customer/Patient Service
  • Medical Terminology knowledge
  • Patient Registration experience
  • Medical Insurance Knowledge
  • Insurance Payer Knowledge
  • Experience with EMR Systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong customer service experience with high volume calls.
