About the position

As a Medical Receptionist at RadNet, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care and ensuring a smooth operational flow within the radiology department. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting and registering patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner, obtaining and verifying insurance and patient information, and ensuring that all necessary documentation is accurate and complete. You will also be responsible for collecting co-pays and fees, answering and transferring incoming phone calls, and scheduling or rescheduling patient appointments as needed. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and colleagues. In this role, you will coordinate with back-office staff to ensure timely and effective care for patients. You will provide patients with appropriate orientation regarding preparatory and safety protocols, as well as directions to facilities when necessary. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong multitasking abilities, and have a structured approach to prioritizing work. Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Obtain or verify proper insurance and patient information, collect signatures and ensure accuracy and completion of necessary documentation.
  • Collect and log all co-pays and fees.
  • Answer/transfer incoming phone calls.
  • Schedule, reschedule or cancel new or current patients, confirm appointments and notify staff of changes when necessary.
  • Give patients appropriate orientation for preparatory and safety protocols, and provide directions to facilities if needed.
  • Coordinate with the back-office staff for timely and effective care of patients.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills.
  • Experience providing exceptional customer service.
  • Medical terminology knowledge and recent medical/radiology office experience is preferred.

  • Experience in a medical or radiology office setting.
