Epiphany Dermatology is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team. As a Medical Receptionist, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming environment for our patients, ensuring that their first impression of our clinics is positive and professional. This position requires a service-oriented individual who is motivated to go above and beyond to meet the needs of our patients. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that are essential to the smooth operation of our clinics. You will greet and register patients, manage their information, and handle various administrative duties at the front desk. This includes collecting and verifying patient demographics, processing insurance information, and managing appointment scheduling. You will also be tasked with handling incoming communications, preparing for patient visits, and ensuring that medical records are maintained accurately and efficiently. Your ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure will be key to your success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Greet, welcome, and register patients while minimizing and solving wait times or other reception area issues.
  • Collect, verify, and document patient information including demographics, insurance details, and intake forms.
  • Collect signatures on documents such as HIPAA privacy statements and consent forms.
  • Accurately identify Fee Scale/Co-pay determinations and process visit charges, co-pays, and deductibles.
  • Manage incoming phone calls, emails, messages, and referrals in a timely manner.
  • Prepare for upcoming visits by reviewing next day activities and completing necessary documentation.
  • Perform appointing functions such as scheduling appointments and managing cancellations or re-schedules.
  • Handle patient check-out duties including scheduling next appointments and providing patient education materials.
  • Maintain medical records with timely input of incoming scans and documents.
  • Work with the healthcare team to ensure smooth patient flow and operations.
  • Participate in staff meetings and provide constructive input for improvements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a medical receptionist, preferably in a medical practice or ambulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry and strong computer skills.
