About the position

Pain Free Life Centers is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our team at the Farmington Hills location. This role is crucial in ensuring that the front end of our clinic operates smoothly and efficiently. As a Patient Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in their experience at our clinic. We pride ourselves on providing a holistic, non-invasive approach to pain management, and we are looking for someone who shares our passion for helping others. You will be responsible for managing patient appointments, creating and updating patient charts, and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent multitasking skills, and have a friendly, outgoing personality that can positively influence our patients' experiences. In this position, you will be required to travel to our Troy location for training and potentially for vacation coverage. While one year of experience as a medical receptionist is preferred, it is not mandatory. We are looking for someone who is reliable, professional, and willing to step in wherever needed to ensure a positive patient experience. Your responsibilities will include answering phones, coordinating appointments, and handling payments. You will also be expected to have intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly in Word and Excel, to create and update necessary documents and reports. The working hours will be between 6:45 AM to 7:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, and 6:45 AM to 5:00 PM on Fridays, with weekends and holidays off. Responsibilities

  • Manage patient appointments and coordinate scheduling.
  • Create and update patient charts and maintain accurate records.
  • Answer phone calls and provide information to patients.
  • Handle cash and card payments from patients and follow up on payments as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Assist in creating and updating documents and reports using Microsoft Office.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Multitask effectively in a busy work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • 1 year of experience in a customer service role (preferred).
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience as a medical receptionist (1 year preferred).
  • Familiarity with holistic medicine practices.
