About the position

The Avenue at Strongsville is seeking a dedicated Medical Records/Central Supply professional to join their team in a full-time capacity. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of medical records and managing supply inventory in a skilled nursing care facility. The ideal candidate will have a cheerful disposition and a commitment to providing excellent care and support to residents, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Review and organize medical record information to comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Protect medical record information from loss, defacing, or destruction before the retention period ends.
  • Identify incomplete, late, or inaccurate information in medical records.
  • Assist in managing paper files at the nurses' stations by thinning charts quarterly.
  • Facilitate communication between residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team (IDT).
  • Monitor physician compliance with document signing and notify them in a timely manner.
  • Notify the Administrator of any requests for medical record information from families, legal offices, or insurance companies.
  • Order supplies from appropriate vendors and oversee rental equipment for residents.
  • Maintain supplies in an organized manner and inventory all supplies needed for resident care.
  • Receive supply orders, check for accuracy, and put away stock using a FIFO inventory system.
  • Collect and code invoices for all departments and submit them to the Administrator for approval.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in Medical Records management.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations regarding medical records and HIPAA compliance.
