As a Medical Records Clerk at Hackensack Meridian Health at Home, you will play a crucial role in maintaining clinical records and ensuring the timely and accurate processing and completion of these records. Your responsibilities will include providing clerical and phone support, maintaining patient records, and ensuring that documents are filed accurately and regularly. You will audit patient discharge charts thoroughly and follow up to provide any missing data consistently. Additionally, you will photocopy materials, correspondence, and reports as requested, and make and distribute client records. You will also be responsible for ordering patient supplies in a timely manner, ensuring that the supply room is neat and clean, and maintaining proper inventories. Logging faxes in the appropriate lab book and verifying that lab reports are received will be part of your daily tasks, along with faxing blood work and labs and ensuring log books are accurate and complete. Customer service is key in this role, as you will answer phones courteously, take accurate messages, and assist visitors, patients, and staff by directing them to the appropriate locations. In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist the Medical Records Coordinator in maintaining employee files, ensuring that all filing and scanning is up to date and timely. Flexibility is essential, as you may be assigned other duties or projects as needed. You will also be expected to adhere to Hackensack Meridian Health's organizational competencies and standards of behavior, which include physical demands such as lifting a minimum of 10 lbs., pushing and pulling a minimum of 10 lbs., and standing for a minimum of 4 hours a day.
