About the position

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining patient records in a healthcare setting. This role involves general office duties, including filing, answering phones, and using office equipment to assemble and analyze medical records. The clerk ensures the accurate dissemination of records and assists with chart audits, all while providing excellent customer service in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general office duties including filing and answering phones.
  • Assemble and analyze medical records for accuracy and completeness.
  • Disseminate records and copy documents for release of information.
  • Assist with chart audits to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain organization and attention to detail in record-keeping.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass background and drug screenings.
  • Preferred: 2-3 years of medical office experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Filing and chart assembly experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
