Medical Review Officer - Part-time / 1099

About the position

The Medical Review Officer (MRO) position at Leidos QTC Health Services is a part-time role focused on providing clinical leadership and ensuring high-quality medical services across various lines of business. The MRO will interpret and analyze medical examination results in compliance with state and federal regulations, while collaborating with a team of healthcare professionals to support operational execution and strategic growth. This role requires exceptional attention to detail and independent decision-making skills, as well as a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review examination results with exceptional attention to detail.
• Apply contractual and regulatory guidelines to render medical determinations regarding job position eligibility.
• Exercise independent decision-making and judgment in medical reviews.
• Maintain understanding of specific contract guidelines and requirements.
• Collaborate with exam management teams for efficient processing of medical determinations.
• Communicate exam results and medical determinations to clients.
• Assist in formulating and implementing medical guidelines and updates.
• Participate in safety meetings and ensure safe operating conditions.
• Complete physical courses required for MRO responsibilities.
• Perform other assigned duties as required.

Requirements

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with an active unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.
• ABMS Board Certified in Occupational Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Emergency Medicine.
• Minimum of five years of outpatient clinical practice experience.
• Proficiency with computers and MS Office products.
• Valid BLS and ACLS for Healthcare Providers certifications.
• Ability to earn and maintain clinical training/certifications as required.
