About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America plays a crucial role in connecting internal strategies with external medical insights. This position involves engaging with healthcare professionals to support disease awareness, gather insights on unmet medical needs, and facilitate scientific exchange. The MSL will also contribute to the development of processes and best practices within the organization, serving as a medical resource for healthcare providers and supporting product commercialization efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop enduring professional relationships with healthcare practitioners, clinical investigators, and healthcare decision makers within assigned territory.
  • Gather insights regarding unmet medical needs and treatment landscapes in targeted therapeutic areas.
  • Attend and support scientific and medical meetings, disseminating clinical and competitive insights within the organization.
  • Respond to unsolicited requests, providing truthful and non-promotional information regarding MTPA's products.
  • Assist in the development of educational materials and standard responses to FAQs; provide product-related site education.
  • Present information to healthcare professionals to assist in keeping their presentations current.
  • Support Phase 3, Phase 4, and Investigator Sponsored Trials (ISTs) as needed.
  • Ensure that all medical education activities are conducted in compliance with relevant guidance, rules, and regulations.

Requirements

  • Advanced Degree in Life Sciences: MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) required.
  • A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in Medical Affairs in Pharmaceutical, Biotech or related scientific medical experience is required.
  • Knowledge of GCP and experience with clinical trial operations required.
  • Proven competence in clinical therapeutics, drug development, business and market knowledge, and strategic resource management.
  • Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, networking, verbal, written, and presentation.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA/CNS preferred.
  • Experience with customer relationship management, including thought leader development and speaker bureau training.
  • AMCP dossier and Health Economics and Outcomes Research knowledge and/or experience preferred.
  • Prior launch experience strongly preferred.
