About the position

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) at Otsuka America Pharmaceutical, Inc. plays a crucial role in the new ecosystem-based customer engagement model. This position is responsible for providing clinical, scientific, and health economic information related to disease states and the appropriate utilization of Otsuka products. The MSL engages with healthcare providers, key influencers, and patient groups to enhance patient outcomes and align with Otsuka's strategic objectives. The role involves collaboration with ecosystem partners to customize regional business strategies and ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the ecosystem strategic business plan and identify key stakeholders.
  • Engage with Key Influencers (KIs), Local Practice Leaders (LPLs), healthcare providers, and patient groups.
  • Provide clinical, scientific, and health economic information related to disease states and Otsuka products.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with key scientific and medical customers and organizations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the ecosystem to align with Otsuka's patient-centric strategy.
  • Deliver training and evaluation of promotional and disease state speakers.
  • Assist with Otsuka's clinical trials program and provide clinical expertise.
  • Collect and submit medical insights to drive decision making.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biological Sciences, Health Services Research or Public Health (PharmD., M.D., PhD. or D.Ph.) is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years related work experience (clinical, health system or industry).
  • Outstanding business acumen and understanding of the industry and Otsuka's business model.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
  • Understanding of industry legal, regulatory, and compliance landscape.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a similar role within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of health economic outcomes research.
  • Familiarity with clinical trial processes and regulations.
